about

In Buddhism and Hinduism, the left hand is seen as something “unclean”. This leads to various opposing Buddhist and Hindu cults with traditions that break with societal norms. These cults all come together under the name “Vāmācāra” (Sanskrit for Left-Hand Path). Their traditions range from meditating on human bodies, sharing meals with stray dogs, to the usually prohibited consumption of alcohol and marihuana as well as sexual fluids.
While there are manifold elements that might not be found in all of these cults, there is one distinct trait that all of them share: the goal of this behavior is to demonstrate their belief in a monistic world where everything is the product as well as the source of the same origin. Thus, nothing is unholy and everything is possible.

After deleting the element of the “unholy” or “forbidden” from their music, Vāmācāra are not afraid of crossing boundaries and merging what initially seemed to be diametrically opposed. You’ll find this to be true both by looking at the musical foundation of Death, Black and Doom Metal as well as the various Psychedelic and Stoner Rock elements that can be spotted in every track on “Mantras for the Manifold”.
Finally, it shouldn’t surprise you that the musical diversity is accompanied by lyrics in various languages (English, Greek and Polish), all of them dealing with topics ranging from apotheosis of the self and thus, rendering God useless, to antinomian beliefs whose quintessence is to stay flexible in your beliefs rather than following something (or someone?) blindly without ever questioning them. Have the courage to use your own intelligence!
